       Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (D.S.G.M)

 

Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee was established under on act of Govt. of India for management of Sikh Gurdwaras in Delhi.It is constituted of elected Members. Sikh voters of Delhi under the Supervision of Delhi Administration elect these members.
The office bearers and executive committee members are elected by the general house every year. At present S. Manjeet Singh GK is the president of DSGMC. The DSGMC is entrusted with the management of following Ten main Historical Gurdwaras of Delhi :-
Gurdwara Nanak Pio
Gurdwara Majnu Tilla
Gurdwara Bangla Sahib
Gurdwara Bala Sahib
Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib
Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib
Gurdwara Moti Bagh Sahib
Gurdwara Damdama Sahib
Gurdwara Mata Sundri Ji
Gurdwara Martyrdom place of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Mehrauli

Besides above, DSGMC also maintains Seven Singh Sabha Gurdwaras in Delhi. In all these Gurdwaras, DSGMC is responsible for daily Maryada i.e. , Kirtan, katha , lectures etc. as also distribution of Karha Prasad and Langar ( free community meals ). DSGMC is also arranging celebrations of all Gurpurabs and Sikh Festivals in various important Gurdwaras of Delhi. Regular Amrit Sanchar is arranged every Wednesday at G. Sis Ganj Sahib. A monthly Punjabi Magzaine "SIS GANJ" is published by DSGMC.

In the education field, DSGMC is running Four Colleges up to post graduate level affiliated to Delhi University besides an Institute of Management, an institute of industrial training, one Polytechnic and one vocational college. One Engineering college has also recently started working in western Delhi. DSGMC is also managing Ten "GURU HARKRISHAN PUBLIC SCHOOLS" to provide quality education up to Senior Secondary level besides many other Schools in various localities of Delhi. It is also providing handsome grants to all Khalsa Schools, in Delhi which have their own managements.

Baba Baghel Singh Museum and a Library is functhuning at Gurdwara Bangla Sahib to furnish required information about Sikh religions and history. DSGMC does expend lot of efforts in organizing Welfare activities and help in the event of natural and other National calamities. It has been providing regular financial and other assistance to the Widows rendered help less due to dreadful massaire Of Sikhs in 1984. It renderad relief to flood victims of Punjab in 1988, Earth quake

victims of Maharashtra and U.P. and recent Orissa cyclone. It donated more than Rs. 30,00,000/- for Prime Ministers Fund for Kargil martyrs.

DSGMC has opened a 50 Bed Hospital at Gurdwara Bala Sahib and it is planned to expand its capacity to 250 beds and make it a prestigious super specialty Hospital in Delhi.

In short, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee is a premier Sikh Institutions with annual Budget of Crores of rupees. After SGPC of Amritsar, It is perhaps the largest institution of Sikhs in the world.
